Best areas to buy property in Marbella East

Over the past couple of years, the areas to the east of Marbella have been emerging as highly sought after places to live, and now they are already a byword for sophisticated living in the greater Marbella area. Starting at Río Real, Marbella’s east side takes in El Rosario, Los Monteros, Las Chapas, Elviria and Cabopino. Each has its own distinct flavour, but they do share something in common – they all have some of the finest real estate on the Costa del Sol.

Río Real is a well-established community distinguished by an excellent golf course and a selection of elegant properties on both sides of the N340. Torre Real is something of a local landmark and the proximity of this area to central Marbella makes it ideal for buyers who want to combine the best of urban and country life.

A little further east, El Rosario offers something for everyone, from luxury villas to compact apartments. Its beautiful sandy beaches and beach bars draw visitors from beyond Marbella, and it has an international school, tennis club and other local facilities that give it a friendly village atmosphere.

Los Monteros has for many years attracted the cosmopolitan overseas buyer who appreciates its beachfront mansions and superior apartments. Located only 15 minutes from the centre of Marbella, it is also home to the five-star Los Monteros Hotel and its fabulous beachside restaurant, La Cabane. The Costa del Sol general hospital is also situated in Los Monteros, but you may also spot Spanish actor Antonio Banderas walking near his mansion or in one of the local cafés.

Las Chapas is another prestigious area, which not only has some of the most spacious villa plots on the coast—all made more private by the lush greenery of this area—it is also is home to some of the coast’s best private schools.

Elviria is perhaps the jewel of Marbella East, complete with a well-developed commercial centre with supermarkets and an attractive selection of restaurants ranging from Japanese to Italian and Spanish on both sides of the main thoroughfare. It is also home to the famous Nikki Beach and Don Carlos Hotel. There is a renowned tennis school in La Mairena and Aventura Amazonia in central Elviria is an adventure playground for both children and adults. The Santa Clara and Santa María golf courses are nearby too, and complemented by excellent courses at Río Real, Elviria Hills and Cabopino.

Cabopino is famous for its small but perfectly formed marina, which is surrounded by some lovely restaurants and bars. Most people visit Cabopino for its superlative beach, and anyone who chooses to live in this lovely area will find luxury villas, townhouses and apartments within the vicinity of Cabopino port.

Marbella East also offers a shorter drive to the airport for anyone who needs to commute regularly, but overall it is the stylish ambience of the area and its residential properties that makes this part of Marbella one of the most desirable places to live on the Costa del Sol.
