The ultimate Marbella golf course, the Marbella Club Golf Resort, owned by the prestigious Marbella Club Hotel, offers an 18-hole course in the foothills of Benahavis. The views from the course are spectacular and, as access is limited, players never feel under pressure to speed up or slow down play. Los Naranjos Golf, Nueva Andalucía
Located in the heart of Nueva Andalucía’s Golf Valley, Los Naranjos Golf opened in 1977 having been designed by world-renowned golf architect, Robert Trent Jones. It became a shareholder club in 1989 and was improved by the addition of its beautiful clubhouse in 1991. Regular players at Los Naranjos appreciate its long, wide fairways, large greens and attractive surroundings including an orange grove and river. Los Naranjos has welcomed a number of different professional and amateur tournaments, including the European Ladies Tour and Spanish PGA Championship.
Santa María Golf, Marbella East
On the eastern edge of Marbella municipality, the beautiful Santa María Golf fairways are lined by pine trees, cork oaks, lakes and streams where they grant golfers incredible views of the Mediterranean and beyond. But there’s a lot more to Santa María than golf alone. The 19th century clubhouse has been created from a stunning Spanish Cortijo and invites members and visitors to partake in tennis, bowling, swimming and, of course, dining in the acclaimed Hole 19 Restaurant.
Río Real Golf, Marbella
Closer to Marbella centre, Río Real Golf’s 18 holes were designed alongside the river, which runs through the area and after which it is named. The Royal Golf Federation considers Río Real Golf to be one of the best courses in Spain, accessible to players of all levels and complemented by the Río Real Golf Academy providing specialised tuition to groups, individuals, juniors and adults. While the sea views from this beautiful course are incredible, those players with their eyes firmly on the course will appreciate the wonderful olive, cypress, palm and pine trees surrounding them.
